Did you know LTI Korea's library holds a piece of literary history: the very first French translation of a Korean literary work, Printemps parfumé (lit. Spring Perfume/Fragrance of Spring)! 📚<br><br>This beautiful 1892 book is the first French version of Chunhyangjeon (lit. The Tale of Chunhyang). Translated by J. H. Rosny (with help from Hong Jong-ju) and published by E. Dentu as part of its part of the Petite collection Guillaume series in 1892, it features exquisite illustrations by Marold and Mittis. ✨<br><br>We were honored to welcome Her Excellency Sara Solís Castañeda, the Guatemalan Ambassador to South Korea, to our library today, where she stopped by after her meeting with the President of LTI Korea to admire this precious work of art.<br><br>(But why would the Guatemalan Ambassador be interested in a French translation of a Korean book? 👀 I’ll spill the beans in the comments if there's enough interest!)<br>.<br>.<br>.<br>#KoreanLiterature #Translation #History #LibraryFinds #CulturalExchange #Guatemala #ltikorea #Chunhyangjeon <br>embaguatecorea sarasolis_rok
