Support for Korean Literature Translators
Support for Korean Literature Translators
- We invite overseas translators in Korea for a residence program to help them enhance their translation skills. They will have a chance to participate in a translation workshop and interact with authors, critics and publishers.
- In addition, we support translators to participate in overseas literary translation programs so that they can build a global network in addition to improving their translation skills.
Translator-in-Residence Program
Eligibility
- Translators who have published at least one work of Korean literature, culture or arts abroad
- Translators who have received an award for translating a work of Korean literature, culture or arts
- Anyone who has contributed significantly to the worldwide dissemination of Korean literature
Details
- Financial Support: Round-trip airfare, housing, and living expenses
- Activities: meetings with writers, literary excursions, and translation seminars
Period
one month between April and November
Required Documents
- Application (set form)
- Personal statement (any format, three A4 pages max)
- Research proposal (any format, four A4 pages max)
